Make Your Own Reindeer Food

I've made this with my preschoolers, and my own children, and they all LOVE the activity. It's super easy, super quick, super cheap, and adds to the magic of Christmas!
*Dig out your oatmeal.
*Find yourself some glitter.
*If you want, I even added in colored sugar crystals this year.
*Put the 3 ingredients into a Ziploc and shake.
Then on Christmas Eve spread your reindeer food outside and the reindeer will see the 'magic' glitter and smell the yummy oats as they bring Santa to your house! Guaranteed success!




*Parents: I recommend spreading it out on your driveway or other paved surface because it is much easier for the reindeer to 'eat' it (aka-sweep away) off of a flat surface, than it is on a snow-covered yard!

I'm in trouble now...

Hannah and Emma are calling Santa's bluff!!!
Today when I tried pulling the "you'd better get your room clean, Santa's watching" bit, Emma simply said, "That's okay. Last year we fought a lot and we still got presents." Then Hannah chimed in, "Yea, and we didn't clean our room until a day or two before Christmas, so it's okay. Last year Santa wrote them a letter about being good and getting their {INCREDIBLY MESSY} room cleaned up, but it had very little effect. From what I hear, he is seriously considering writing another one right now, but if it is not going to matter, should he bother? What is a big jolly guy to do? If Santa can't convince kids to clean their room, then I haven't got a chance!!!

Me: (teasing Hannah) I'm the perfect mom!
Hannah: No you're not!
Me: Sure I am. I'm perfect! Didn't you know that?
Hannah: No you're not! Jesus is the only perfect person. You yell. Jesus never yelled.


Dang! I was *THIS* close to being perfect!

Say Cheese!

Grace learned how to say "cheese" recently. It's great to have all three girls look at me and smile at the same time. Grace's crooked smile make us laugh every time!

Advent Calendar

So a little while back I saw the cutest advent calendar counting down to Halloween made with a mini muffin tin. I decided that I really wanted one for Christmas. I have a countdown, but I don't like it very much, so I was looking for something better. Then I got to thinking that if I got my sisters and sisters-in-law to come over, we could all pool our scrapbooking supplies and come up with a cute item for little money. Well, I was right-I spent $8.50 on my mini muffin tin and everything else was already there. I expected it to take a couple of hours, but it ended up being more like 5(ish). It was a fun day with the girls and I was super excited that I had a completely finished product that night! Check it out!
