Some time in the wee hours of Tuesday morning I was woken up with some pretty bad tooth pain. I ignored it and drifted back to sleep, but the pain came and went for the rest of the day. I didn't call my dentist yet because I wanted to see what would happen. Well, by the time I decided it was only getting worse I was sqeezed in for the last appointment on Thursday. I received news that I think is less than desirable-I need an apicoectomy on Monday. What's that you ask? Here is what wikipedia has to say:
"A root end surgery, also known as apicoectomy (L. apex, apicis: a summit or a tip), is an endodontic surgical procedure whereby a tooth's root tip is removed and a root end cavity is prepared and filled with a biocompatible material. This is usually necessitated when a conventional root canal therapy had failed and a re-treatment was already unsuccessful or is not advised"
In other words, they are going to cut open my gums and take out the infected tissue and bone.
YUCK!! YUCK!!! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
(I'd rather spend the day at the OB/GYN!!!)
Well, I'm off to go lie down and hope my meds kick in soon. A good nap should help-a little. Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.

I know you aren't posting this for sympathy, but ouch!!! And YUCK is right. I am so sorry you have to deal with this. Good luck and take an I-POD!
